Step by step process for license registration via a Network Card

After Predator MDC has been installed, step through the following process to register your license:

  1. Close Predator MDC, should it be running
  2. Shift+Right Click on the purple Predator MDC desktop icon and select Run as administrator
  3. If a UAC prompt asks, Do you want to allow this app to make changes to your device? Select Yes
  4. Optionally specify Windows administrator credentials and click Ok
  5. The Predator registration/upgrade dialog will appear, if not, the application will start, select Upgrade from the Options menu
  6. Type your name and company, do not leave these fields blank
  7. Type or copy & paste the serial number and access code from an email or a sticker within the DVD packaging
  8. Select Network Card from the license type pulldown
  9. Click the Ok button and the Predator MDC splash screen will appear

Step by step process for license registration via a Predator USB SIM

After Predator MDC has been installed, step through the following process to register your license:

  1. Close Predator MDC, should it be running
  2. Verify that the Predator USB SIM is plugged into a USB port
  3. Shift+Right Click on the purple Predator MDC desktop icon and select Run as administrator
  4. If a UAC prompt asks, Do you want to allow this app to make changes to your device? Select Yes
  5. Optionally specify Windows administrator credentials and click Ok
  6. The Predator registration/upgrade dialog will appear, if not, the application will start, select Upgrade from the Options menu
  7. Type your name and company, do not leave these fields blank
  8. Type or copy & paste the serial number and access code from an email or a sticker within the DVD packaging
  9. Select USB or Unknown (for remote USB via RDP) from the license type pulldown
  10. Click the Ok button and the Predator MDC splash screen will appear

Step by step process for license registration via a Floating network license

After Predator MDC has been installed, step through the following process to register your license:

  1. Close Predator MDC, should it be running
  2. Verify that the server running Predator FLM is running by pinging it
  3. Shift+Right Click on the purple Predator MDC desktop icon and select Run as administrator
  4. If a UAC prompt asks, Do you want to allow this app to make changes to your device? Select Yes
  5. Optionally specify Windows administrator credentials and click Ok
  6. The Predator registration/upgrade dialog will appear, if not, the application will start, select Upgrade from the Options menu
  7. Type your name and company, do not leave these fields blank
  8. Type or copy & paste the serial number and access code from an email or a sticker within the DVD packaging
  9. Select Floating License Manager from the license type pulldown
  10. Type the name or IP address of the server running Predator FLM
  11. Type the Ethernet port number configured within Predator FLM, 1024 is the default
  12. Click the Ok button and the Predator MDC splash screen will appear

Predator MDC Tips

  • Why does the license registration dialog appear when the app starts?

    License registration details are stored within the Windows Registry in HKLM. Often customers with tight IT security policies will maintain or refresh Windows images or profiles to defaults that do not contain Predator's license registration details. This will trigger Predator MDC to prompt for the missing license registration details during startup. Updating the Windows Image or profile to include the Predator License Registration details will fix this issue. A similar situation occurs when expired licenses are found within HKCU. Simply delete all HKCU based licenses using the Predator License Utility.

  • After license registration does the app have to run as an Administrator?

    No. Windows Administrator credentials are only required for installation and license registration. After that, Predator MDC can be run with standard Windows user credentials.
