NOTE: Predator personnel are available to assist but we do not provide DBA level of support. TLS support is included as a standard v11 feature but it is optional and not required. TLS provides enhanced security between Predator applications and Microsoft SQL Server. TLS operation is recommended by Predator Software and can be implemented during the installation of each Predator application. Predator applications support database user connections via SQL authentication, integrated Windows security or a specific functional Windows user. Non Windows based applications such as Predator MDC for Android require mixed mode authentication to be enabled and a SQL user.

NOTE: Microsoft SQL Server Express versions are not recommended for Predator MDC customers with a large number of machines or those with short cycle times.

Microsoft Database (MSOLEDBSQL) drivers

Customer's requiring the latest TLS/SSL based database security, authentication and encryption support should utilize the Microsoft Database (MSOLEDBSQL) drivers. These optional database drivers are recommended when corporate IT provides a DBA or similar to support the additional complexity. Support for the Microsoft Database (MSOLEDBSQL) Drivers are included in the latest releases of Predator applications. Predator applications support v19 and v18 of the Microsoft Database (MSOLEDBSQL) drivers.
